Choose your world's folder (or the WorldSave_….sav files in it). Where to find it:
WorldSave_….sav
%LOCALAPPDATA%\AbioticFactor\Saved\SaveGames\<number>\Worlds\<world name>
<server folder>\AbioticFactor\Saved\SaveGames\Server\Worlds\<world name>
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\PlayStack.AbioticFactor_3wcqaesafpzfy\SystemAppData\wgs
containers.index
.bak
Tip: paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\AbioticFactor\Saved\SaveGames (Steam) or the Xbox path above into the file window's address bar.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\AbioticFactor\Saved\SaveGames
Your save stays on your computer: it is read inside this browser tab and nothing is uploaded, even if your browser's prompt says "upload". When you are done, the editor gives you the edited files to copy back.
The editor writes your changes into the folder itself instead of handing you a download (Chrome and Edge only; the browser asks you to allow it). Chrome and Edge never let a website change files inside AppData or Program Files, so this does not work for Steam single-player or Xbox app saves in their normal place - use the buttons above for those. It works for a dedicated server installed elsewhere (also over a network share, e.g. \\server-pc\share\…\Worlds\<world>), an Xbox XboxGames\GameSave\wgs folder, or a copy of a world.
\\server-pc\share\…\Worlds\<world>
XboxGames\GameSave\wgs
Start the world (or the server) to see the changes. If the game or server was running, it may have overwritten them - quit it and save again.
Xbox cloud saves can undo an edit. If Abiotic Factor and the Xbox app were closed and you are offline, carry on:
This Xbox save folder holds several worlds.
.sav
Xbox cloud saves can undo an edit. Follow every step, in this order:
container.<number>
If the edit is gone after going online, the cloud copy won: put your backup back and repeat the steps.
You can keep editing: the next download builds on these changes.
